The Joaq-a-thon is a day-long walking event in the spring for Joaquin Miller students and families. This activity gives the students an opportunity to raise money for their school. Students gather sponsors to donate money according to how far they walk. For an overview of the event, PDF Download download the pdf.

Joaq-a-thon Day is full of challenges and excitement for the students, who can earn T-shirts and a variety of awards. The kids love this event!

Each year, parent volunteers are needed to work at gates, hand out popsicles/Clif Bars, make buttons, and help check walkers in and out. We need over 100 volunteers to make this fun, safe and successful.

Here's how to volunteer:

1) Go to Konstella and click on sign-ups section
2) Choose the volunteer spots you would like- many people coordinate with a friend to cheer the kids on at different gates.
3) If you have any trouble signing up on Konstella, please email the coordinators. Jen Belmont or Cathy Carr will get you set up to volunteer.
