#3 Reason to Attend the Auction: JM Has an Awesome Computer Lab
A year ago JM parents exceeded all expectations by raising their paddles at the Auction, enough to fund a full revamp of our Computer Lab.

The project went beyond the Lab and extended to a broad technology program that reaches into the classroom.

Our Lab isn’t just about cool new Macs and a refurbished room (thanks to the Dads’ Club); it’s about a motivated, caring teacher and long-time JM community member, Helene Moore, who ensures that our kids’ work with technology coincides with their classroom curriculum work. It’s comprehensive, and it’s coordinated, and clearly it works.

Chances are your child has told you that Computers is one of the best parts of the week. Help make sure that it remains that way: Come to the Auction. Purchase your tickets at http://jmpta.wildapricot.org/Auction.

Top Ten Reasons to Attend the Auction — Reason #4

Friday, October 28th, 2011

Joaquin Miller parents have for years supported classroom and extracurricular instruction by contributing time, energy and money. In recent years, we’ve done even more.

To our uniquely robust teachers’ aides program, we’ve added after-school tutoring (provided by our hard-working teachers), an in-school counselor, additional playground monitoring and free breakfast and snacks. All children are welcome to participate in these programs.

OUSD funded some of these initiatives last year, but no longer is able to. We can’t afford not to keep them in place; they’ve proven to benefit our kids and our school.

At the Auction you’ll have a chance to “raise your paddle” to support these programs, to ensure that your kids receive the support they deserve.

So please: come to the Auction! (Purchase your tickets at http://jmpta.wildapricot.org/Auction.)

And plan to raise your paddle for our kids.

Reason # 4.2 to Attend the JM Fall Auction:

You can bid on and win an awesome Earthquake Kit and In-Home Preparedness Package that will be delivered to your home on November 6th. You can thank Ms. Sudduth’s Class and JM grandmother Roz Potter for this fantastic Class Contribution! And you’ll rest easier when you are prepared.

#5 Reason to Attend the Auction: We Love Mr. L!

If your child hasn’t come home raving about Mr. L, the PE teacher brought to us through the program Rhythm & Moves, it won’t be long. Noel Lingad (“Mr. L”) is a well-loved, well-respected member of the JM community, and he runs an awesome PE program.

Once, when we were considering programs we thought we’d be forced to cut, a theme came through very clearly in conversations with parents and teachers: We must keep Mr. L!

Mr. L’s PE program would not happen without your generous support — which comes to us primarily through the Auction. So be there! Just go to http://jmpta.wildapricot.org/Auction to purchase your tickets.

And support the Auction with your energy as well!

There a Live Auction after the Silent Auction. At the Live Auction, you will have the chance to bid on some fabulous prizes. Some of this years’ prizes include: `Eat Your Way Through Europe’ Dinner,

Please let us know if you want to charge your ticket to your account when you receive your bidder number, or if you want to pay by check. We will also try to be available some Monday and Friday afternoons to catch the pick-up traffic.

If you have any questions about the Golden Lottery or want to purchase a ticket, drop us an email. If you are not attending the auction and want to buy a ticket, you can pick someone who will be attending to choose your prize. Prizes will be updated as they are confirmed, and will be available in the catalog.
