The last PTA Meeting of the year is Thursday at 7:00 pm. Yes, that's right, it's our last meeting of the school year already! We will be taking care of some important business — voting in our board officers for next year and adopting our budget. We would also like to have some time to say thank you to all the dedicated parents who have volunteered their time to the PTA this year, as well as attended our monthly meetings. Refreshments will be provided, and childcare will be available in the library. Be there or be square!
Tonight is Parent Appreciation/ Open House Night from 6:30-8:00 pm. Each class will present a brief presentation for parents at 6:40 p.m., followed by thank you treats. Please come and see the many wonderful activities and projects your child has already completed this year, as well as activities in progress.
They came, They Shopped, They Bought. The checks are still rolling in but it looks like we raised over $6,000 in the May 1 Yard Sale. So thank you to all the families who brought items and bought items and all of the volunteers who helped make this year's yard sale such a success.
Auction 2004 -- Six months and counting! Yes, you read that right -- it's just six months until the 2004 Fall Auction, Saturday, Nov. 6 at the Sequoyah Country Club. As you probably know, the Fall Auction is the JMPTA's biggest fundraiser (and the social event of the year!) so the planning starts early. We will be having our first planning meeting on Monday, May 24 at 7:30 pm, at the Methodist Church on Snake and Mountain Blvd. Look for a flyer in the next Walkie-Talkie with more info. We are going to need help with solicitations, set-up, crafts and more, so if you are interested in helping out next year, please come join us that night!
