April 1, 2008
Dear Parents:
Starting on Monday, April 14, I would like to begin a new morning routine aimed to give the children more responsibility and to help them get ready for first grade.
The children will say goodbye to you outside on the yard and will come into the classroom on their own. They will be responsible for hanging their coats and backpacks, taking care of their lunches, and for turning in homework and notes to me.
Please try to be sure your child is on time for class. Class starts daily at 8:00 a.m. Any late-comers should enter the class through the front door.
We will talk about this often in the classroom to prepare ahead of time. Thank you for your support with this.
Sincerely,
Laura Savage

Dear Parents and Guardians,
SCHOOL HOURS:
As we begin the new year, I urge all parents and
children to arrive to school on time (8:00 a.m.) every
day.
This will teach your kindergartener the significance
of being on time and help her/him learn valuable time
management skills that will be important for the rest
of her/his life.
From now on, I will consider students tardy if they
are not with us on the rug at 8:10 when we formally
begin our day.
If you do come in after this time, send your child in
the FRONT door of the classroom by her/himself. Please
do not come in with them. She/he will be responsible
for taking care of backpacks, etc. and coming to the
rug.
RAINY DAY PROCEDURE REVIEW:
If it is actually raining, I will meet the children at
the front door of the school at 8:00 a.m. If it is
not actually raining, all children should meet me at
the back door at 8:00 a.m. as usual.
Thank you,
Laura Savage
