First graders in all three classes will participate in this special living history day on Wednesday, March 5. Students will learn about many different cultures through art, games, and food. They will dress in the native attire of people living in Asian and Pacific Island countries. (Parents are encouraged to dress up, too!) This is a very fun and memorable event for our first graders.
Mark your calendars! The following field trips have been scheduled for students in Room 8:
Friday, Feb. 22: a live production of "Aesop's Fables," presented by Theatreworks, a national touring theater group, at the Scottish Rite Center in downtown Oakland
Friday, March 14: a tour of Deer Hill Ranch, a working farm in Lafayette
Friday, April 18: a class at the Junior Center of Art and Science entitled "Observe and Compare"
Friday, May 9: a class at Hall of Health in Berkeley entitled "Body Talk"
Friday, June 6: a class at the Lawrence Hall of Science entitled "Animal Homes"
